(Q - Are there any clues to pick up in Father Méhus's introduction?)
MB : frankly I don't know and as I learned after he re-used passages in Orval, I don't think that Father Méhus's text contained...if I correctly understood the spirit of Max Valentin there may be a few winks, I read it a long time ago, not recently, but it's not even proven. I believe that in his head he had done, as he did for a client, it was a product that he wanted to sell, in other words there was a little presentation text, an introduction, the stone that moves, the paper, Father Méhus who died and left a will, was the presentation of the product, then there were the photos of the product, in this case the riddles and after the product itself which had to be illustrated with 'where the footers, a square, a thing. Was his first presentation like that, a product intended for a sponsor to support an image campaign? I don't think there are any clues in the text, maybe little winks that I could have fun looking for but it wouldn't go any further than that.
