(Q - ??: why did you choose a double bass rather than a violin in the visual of the 580?)
MB : it’s the femininity of shapes that interests me. The Americans when I stayed in the United States, the Americans told me are you a??? and there are two categories of guys among them, among them there are the ?? and the ?? and I am a ?? I'm interested in curves, in the buttocks and the double bass has absolutely phenomenal curves, the violin is a bit, it's a bit like an ethical model, the double bass is much more curvy, But it's true I swear it's true, the act of drawing and painting the double bass is enjoyable! I hear it ringing when I paint it. It's true, I'm not telling you bullshit!
(Q - ??: you were talking about double bass and that tickles me because I'm a double bass player and in the industry we call it a grandmother so I don't know if it's sensual.)
MB : well I, at a time when I played guitar, I played with small jazz groups, and the guys handled their double bass, not at all like a grandmother...that said , it is an extremely enjoyable instrument to handle. I never have a double bass except once when one was stuck in my hands, and I had to pretend to play a piece of jazz, I was completely useless, they didn't have no double bass player, they thought I could do it, but holding the double bass is extraordinary. We hold it a bit like we would hold a woman in fact, we are closely linked when we play, we made it waltz too, we can detach it from ourselves, it's a bit like when we dance tango or I know what, there is a gesture at the same time that goes with the instrument depending on what we play, which is quite interesting I find.
