(Q - ??: we all realize that hunting is strewn with countless coincidences, this is what often puts us in a bind, do you have a rational explanation for this?
these coincidences, is it intentional, is it a cognitive bias on our part, a confirmation bias, is it chance, it turns out that such as hunting has
been designed, we find a lot of coincidences, what is your analysis in relation to all these coincidences?)
MB : so an analysis would perhaps be a little pretentious, but the understanding I have is to say that the coincidences are the discoveries of the players, it was never intended if even envisaged by Max Valentin. He considered what I call traps, that is to say certain words, certain turns of phrase, certain sentences which are used, which have the capacity, possibly to provoke, to suggest a double meaning or provoke a misunderstanding or,... but it doesn't go much further.
On the other hand, all the coincidences are what the players found or wanted to find, and where it becomes particularly tricky is when the curses are made in such a way that they leave the door open to these coincidences, it was extremely simple from the start to channel all that, to direct the players a little to avoid it going in all directions, but hey I told the story, I wrote it, that's it. We can no longer go back.
That's the difficulty of my role, is that I can't go back, I can't go back from that, I can try to contribute to progress but I can't go back, I can't take it back to any stage other than where it is today.
And so all these coincidences are discoveries, when we are especially in 1993, today we are a little more circumspect because there are more and more organized hunts and people are becoming more and more seasoned , know the subject better and better. But in 1993, everyone was a little crazy about it, everyone was looking for ideas and there were some discoveries that came to light, many of which were used afterwards, once again. , I say it again, which were used afterwards by Max in other hunts for the most part, and there you have it, so all these coincidence aspects are the..., it is both the imagination of the players and both the desire they have to make things they find fit with an idea that....[microphone cut - drums Michel HS]...
