08/01/2023 - Enregistrement n° 50 - part 5 - 02:42:00: Chinese portrait of Michel Becker

(Q - Roc: Michel, if you were a chess piece, which one would you be?)

MB: Well, it would be different, depending on whether I know how to play or not. If I didn't know how to play, I would probably be the king, out of pretension, if I knew how to play, I think I would be a cavalier.

(Q - Nabil: Hum, a Rosse…)

MB: A wicked thug, the kind who kicks into stretchers.

(Q - Nabil: Yes, and this expression must be in the story of Father Méhus after all, right? He couldn't resist not putting it Max.)

MB: Nabil can you hear me Nabil? Do you hear me well? Nabil? You're breaking them for me. You understand, Nabil, you're breaking it for me, let me go, let me go with that, I've said enough.

(Q - Uncle Nono: I was saying, Max had responded to a Chinese portrait. Would you agree to answer the same questions that had been asked?)< br />
MB: Yeah, well I don't know, accepting without knowing is a bit risky. I have no idea what the questions were.

(Q - Uncle Nono: These are questions, if you were a painting, yes? There you go, I do classic Chinese portraits, there's no catch.)

MB: I don’t know what a classic Chinese portrait is. I had the opportunity to go to China, uh to paint in China, uh, there you go, to talk about all that in China. But the Chinese portrait, no, I don't know what it is, but yeah why not.

(Q - Xavier: for example, it's quite simple, if you were a character.)

MB: Ah well, the answer is easy in this case, I am a character.

(Q - Syn: If you were an expression? Laughs…..)

MB: If I were an expression? I would be “Why keep it simple when you can make it complicated”!

(Q - Syn: A woman, Michel?)

MB: I'll be hot. Famous. I would be a real slut, a real little lot. I don't know I Ah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah just very hot, I would be hot, I would want to fuck lots of guys, I would be completely unbridled.

(Q - Syn: What if you were a cooked dish?)

MB: I will be a royal hare.

(Q - Syn: An animal?)

MB: I would definitely be a cat. A wild cat

(Q - Syn: What if you were a city?)

MB: If I were a city? Ahhhhh, that's interesting. If I were a city, it's still difficult because first of all, I don't have bookish knowledge, so I don't know that many cities, uhhhh...Angers!

(Q - Syn: So what if you were a book apart from the golden owl?)

MB: I would be a dictionary.

(Q - Syn: What if you were an owl?)

MB: If I were an owl? Hmm. It's difficult, very difficult. There, really, it's very, very difficult to put myself in the skin of the character. I would tend to say…. No no it's not, it's not, it's not at all for convenience. It's sincere, I'll be like Roc. I would be a Canadian, I would be French-speaking, but from a distance and I would have a logic and a common sense which would be a little, uh... which could be a little disconcerting for good French people. Yeah, it's not trivial.

(Q - Syn: What if you were a monument?)

MB: Oh. If I were a monument? What monument would I want to be? Certainly not the Cross of Lorraine, of General De Gaulle, no, no, a monument? A monument ? I would be, I will be a contemporary monument. I would be an exceptional villa from a particularly talented architect.

(Q - Syn: If you were a song?)

MB: I would like a song, I would like to be a slightly heady catchphrase, to annoy the world, a catchphrase, something that we have in our heads, we can't get rid of it . I wish it was a song like that, a little haunting.

(Q - Syn: If you were, if you were an insult.?)

MB: I would like to be a slightly offbeat insult, I will be Palsambleu.

(Q - Syn: Oh and a sculpture, a sculpture. What if you were a sculpture?)

MB: Michelangelo's David and Michelangelo's David is interesting because Michelangelo actually sculpted it, while another sculptor before him had started this sculpture before him. And he had hit the block. So it was very difficult to use this block of Marble, and Michelangelo created this character, this David, with a very particular sway. Because this sway allowed Michelangelo to absorb the fault of his predecessor, to make the place where his predecessor had hit the stone a little too hard become the hollow of the sway. So there is something very interesting about this David. Because somewhere, he is, it is... He survived a strong attack from an incompetent sculptor. So I like this sculpture.

(Q - Syn: What if you were a wonder of the world?)

MB: A wonder of the world? I would be myself!. Well. I can't answer that. A wonder of the world. What is a wonder of the world? Yeah.
Well, we're going to say, we're going to say for example that. We will say for example that….I could have answered the Taj Mahal but the Taj Mahal today we have completely mastered. We know everything about the Taj Mahal. On the other hand, there are things which are, in my opinion, infinitely more wonderful, but which we know less about and of which we do not yet have exactly all of Genesis, so we have not yet understood all of Genesis. But hey, if I have to choose, I'll choose the Taj Mahal.

(Q - Syn: a well-known actor.)

MB: If I were a famous actor? I wish, I wish I was Morgan Freeman.

(Q - Syn: Wow, Class. And a color.?)

MB: If I were a color? I distinguish between my, a color that I can consider to be one of my favorite colors, a color that I really like, red indeed, but if I had to be a color, I would choose golden yellow. The yolk of an egg yolk, that powerful yellow there.

(Q - Syn: If you were a king of France?)

MB: If I were a king of France? Uhh. I will lead you with the baton. yes, yes, it's an expression, it's a good example. There you go, well, it’s a good example, leading with the baton. Yes, it's an expression. I would be more of a Saint Louis than a Louis 14, I would have a little Saint-Louis side. This is a little more modest yes,

(Q - Syn: and a flower?)

MB: I hesitate, I hesitate. A flower, I would like to be an edelweiss.

(Q - Syn: Oh OK. Dessert Michel? The owl is at altitude, right?)

MB: Yes, a mille-feuille. Yes, it's pretty good.

(Q - Syn: Yes, that's good, that's a good Chinese portrait. Oh yeah,)

MB: Actually, when it comes to dessert, I think I could also be a tiramisu.
