MB: Nabil, I'm really old, I'm 73 years old today, I'm really an old man, but I remember, when I was much, much, much, much, much younger, that I was at school and we did text explanations, Ah yes, it's far away and we had teachers, at that time who were capable of making us understand, of making us touch the finger of what way we had to interpret, understand, translate, hear such a word, such an expression, such a sentence.
And today, when I speak with you, I sincerely, I have this feeling of a great gap between what you are able to capture in the texts of the riddles and what these riddles actually contain. I have the feeling that very few of you manage or are able to understand the texts. To understand them, understanding means considering the various meanings of a word, reading them carefully and capturing them by saying to yourself, this can mean that, it can mean something else, this is how I understand the text.
I have the feeling that most of you rush through the texts a bit, you read them, you think you have understood and you move on to something else. But I'm not sure you understood correctly. That's important. Don't forget that Régis Hauser was like me, he was my contemporary, he died younger than me but ultimately, he was the same as me, we are from the last century. We are from a time when we used words where there was no internet or written exchanges weighed much more than today or when we used a term, a word or when we used this or that term, it was with the intention of saying this or that thing, and today very few of you are able to read that, to understand that.
